PIRATES!!!!!

Paaar'ts.

OK. That show. The amazing. I mean, quality singers, costumes, makeup; orchestra basically in key; acting and choreography evocative and funny. Right. OK. AMAZING. During the big fight scene at the end, they played the theme from Pirates of the Carribbean. At the part where the police invoke the Queen (we charge you yield...), Queen Victoria wandered onto stage looking a bit confused, adjusted some uniforms, and wandered away. And Robert swears he saw a ninja dart across the back of the stage. AMAZING. Sputter. Sputter sputter.

I saw [info]scorpsnake2000 on the way out and said hi, but I'm not sure he recognized me. He kind of gave me a why-are-you-talking-to-me look that made me wonder whether perhaps I had been transformed into a hideous crone, or was approaching the wrong actor or something.

EEEEeeeeee. Oh, and there was a bat flying around during Mabel and Frederick's long duet, which was pretty neat, but probably not due to the coolness of the production.

PIRATES!!!!1!one! :-D Just about the only thing right now other than Harry Potter that is capable of making me squee! (I have the most awesome memories of ASMing "Pirates" for Stanford Savoyards. We also had a tech prank for the "we charge you yield in Queen Victoria's name" line - nowhere near as cool as your production's, but still notable.)
